Funny you mention tips, because until last Saturday I was convinced giving ushers some change (after they lead you to your seat) was common practice. You know, like at the theater…

This time though, although there was indeed a lady-usher at the entrance, we “missed” her (she was accompanying other people). So we just asked a steward and found the seats ourselves. Saved a couple of Euros… :]

Ah, Parc des Princes. I was there not quite a year ago for France-Scotland. (It was there because the Rugby World Cup had taken over Stade de France.) Good memories. The tickets are even identical. (Aside from the team names, of course.)

Did the ushers extort tips from you too? I wasn’t that surprised to be hit up for cash, but I was surprised that I wasn’t when I went to Stade de France a few months later. Did I catch a break at SdF, or just get an avaricious usher at PdP?

Good match report. Although I agree with Renodinho — I could watch Ligue 1 all day. Serie A puts my body parts to sleep.

Serie A, EPL…both are garbage for skillful play after the first four teams…Ligue 1 is interesting, in my view…PSG with Kezman ought to be more interesting, but let’s not act like Fulham-Wigan or Reggina-Catania is full of compelling football…the only league that seems ot have had quality top to bottom for the last couple of years has been Spain’s Primera…but these things run in cycles…watched the PSG – Bordeaux match and it seemed exciting enough for me…everybody can’t be Manchester United…not even, it appears this week, Manchester United themsevles…

I remember the good old days when any club could win the Ligue 1, but that was before Lyon started to dominte…

You also picked one of the worst teams to watch. PSG sure has some of the biggest wages, but it doesnt have the quality of ancient times. Also top clubs are poaching french youngsters, so the quality of the game decreases a little.

Let me try to go against one of the greatest prejudices in the soccer world of reports and analyses. The French Ligue 1 is not boring, it’s simply good soccer without its superstars (thanks to Calcio, Bundesliga, and Premier League for that). It’s not our fault we don’t pay them as much as the others…

A very well written and elaborated report from our favorite Italian analyst. It was indeed a much appreciated win against Lyon’s number one contender this year.

I like the soccer reporting, especially Ligue 1, boring though it may be.
