Well, from what I remember Inara (at the Lyon.TheOffside.com blog) was saying a while back, is that the biggest complaint the French press have against Grosso is that he never managed to play at Lyon with the same quality of play as he did with the Azzurri national team.

Maybe it's a problem of adapting to the French playing style... or maybe he just dropped in form plain and simple. In the end, I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in the January transfer window and come back to Serie A, I'm sure there's plenty of clubs who'd be interested...

Grosso should have never left Palermo, that was his biggest mistake. To go to a club like Inter and hope you'd be getting regular playing time, was a bet that Grosso lost in the long run. He had a great 2006 World Cup, but wasn't in the limelight long enough to earn a starter spot with the Nerazzurri.

Plus, who in their right mind would choose to play in the French division???

Life sounds like it's been a struggle for Grosso in France; it's hard for me to know if he's played badly enough to deserve the abuse he's apparently getting in the press there.

I think it'll be a matter of team hierarchy Martha. Donadoni has had a strong preference for Oddo ever since he started coaching the national team, and despite Milan's poor season performance so far, the ex-Lazio captain been one of the players that almost always did decently.

The thing with Milan this year, is that it's not so much individual players that are performing poorly (Gilardino aside, although he picked up his game recently), but the team as a whole, so I don't think Oddo has been standing out as one of the culprits for the Rossoneri's poor match form.

Also, my 2nd best pick (Grosso) hasn't been blowing up the charts at Lyon either. So will we see a surprise start for Panucci or Chiellini? I doubt it, but you never know...

I don't watch them much, but hasn't Oddo been pretty poopy for Milan lately? Do you think that'll affect his chance at a starting spot?
