Heroes of the week

Not really any heroes this week, at least in terms of point-earning feats (i.e. goals or assists). Just players playing (that is what players do don’t they) and some of them playing well.

Among these, Fabio Grosso (on a good run after the good goalscoring performance against Brazil), Fabio Cannavaro (didn’t have a lot to do really in Madrid’s 4-0 win over Gijón, but it’s nice not to concede any goals), and Giuseppe Rossi (we’re used to seeing his name by now: no goals, but plenty of shots on target & good passes).

No luck for Luca Toni this week unfortunately, who played only the first 35 minutes of Bayern Munich’s fixture. LucaBomber picked up a knock in the first half and was forced to witness his side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hertha Berlin (and subsequent demotion to 4th place in the Bundesliga) from the sidelines.
