Heroes of the week
Ladies & gentlemen, everything is back to normal: Rossi and Toni are scoring again!
So for starters, let’s travel to Spain where Giuseppe Rossi is finally riding the wave of success. First, “Joe Red” earned his first call-up to the senior national team (although Lippi didn’t give him any playing time yet). Then, he scored against Aalborg in the UEFA Champions League. And this week-end, repeated his good form by scoring the first goal in Villareal’s match vs. Almeria, a mere 15 seconds after kick-off!! And what a goal it was (see below), bravo! The Yellow Submarine went on to win the game 2-1.

In Germany, Luca Toni somewhat got out of the slump that’s been holding him back for several weeks now, and scored the first goal in the Bundesliga “match of the week-end” against Schalke 04. Unfortunately, problems haven’t been fully washed for the Bayern striker. Firstly, his goal in the 3rd minute was a rather simple tap-in from 7 yards out. Secondly, well… Toni didn’t do a whole lot much the rest of the game (and was even booed when Jürgen Klismann substituted him with Andreas Ottl in the 71st). For a guy that scored almost 40 goals in his first season in Germany… we can expect a hell of a lot better! Forza Luca!!
